Using VNC for remote assistance

Often times, it is easier for someone to just hop into your computer and see problems for their self. Any VNC software will work and there are many options, but TeamViewer is the recommended program since it is light-weight, free (for what we need at least), cross-platform, and very simple.
Running TeamViewer
Since someone will connect to your computer, you need to the TeamViewer server. The easiest way to do this is through the TeamViewer QuickSupport (click to download). Simply run the program, and you should be presented with a screen that contains an ID and password.
For safety reasons, we do not recommend you leave this program running and you should be at the computer while a remote user is connected to it in case they try anything malicious. NetGore takes no responsibility if anyone abuses your system. But if someone does attempt to do something malicious, please report them as soon as possible by creating detailed post on the forums.
Getting support
Once the TeamViewer server is running, you just need to send the ID and password to the person you want to help you out. Please do not post these values publicly (such as on the forums) - send them a private message instead.
To connect to someone running TeamViewer, download TeamViewer (click for download) and enter the information they gave you. Either install the program or just run it. When prompted to, enter the ID they gave you in ""Create session"" to connect to them.
