NetGore Cliffs is a simple TopDown mode technical demonstration to show how easily a demo can be made with NetGore. This is primarily aimed at beginners. Although everybody is encouraged to have a go.

Some screenshots:

The client can be downloaded from:

Because this is the first release, there are bugs to be expected. If you have any, please report here. Thanks.

You might want to consider writing some documentation. Nice TopDown tech demo I guess, I'll have to look at it later. You didn't code the client/server from scratch did you? (or rewrite it that is)

He's just using an altered version of the demogame set to topdown build I'm guessing. Could check SVO out as well since it's using Netgore's topdown too.

I didn't code that from scratch. That has already been done, quite nicely, by Spodi and the other developers. There is also a README.TXT file in the download that has a little more insight. More documentation is coming.

That's right, it's a modified version of the demogame and I would also recommend anyone looking for something more complete, check out SVO.

The point of this demo is to garner interest in the engine and I'm having fun doing it. Smile Also would like to test the port forwarding setup here. Everything should be good to go. Server is running, etc.

Once SVO has its battle system I'll be promoting Netgore as a multiwhatever engine (topdown/sidescroller and action/turnbased battle). But I agree that the Netgore community is too small, even vbGORE has a bigger audience in the day Sad

Happy to help out. Please post if you're able to create an account / login / play / or find any bugs.

Just a gag of course, but it's nice to know there are those out there that check the README. Smile

Server was down earlier for about 3 hours for unknown reasons. It's up now.
