Hello everyone,
I'm a aspiring game designer from Oregon, USA. Currently I'm studying Network technologies(A+ certified, taking my Network+ in two weeks, then on to security+ and Cisco), but my largest interest has always been games. Not sure if any of you come from the same background as me in that area, but my baptism into the world was with a game called Neverwinter Nights, and it's amazing editing and script writing tools. I have a very solid foundation of basic programming ideas, and am building every day in every bit of my free time to learn more. Luckily NWscript and C# are almost identical in syntax, if definately not in power.
I've been trolling around the forums for a couple days, asking some questions and getting a lot of really helpful answers. It's definately settled in my mind that NetGore is the engine for me. Spodi deserves huge props for this project.
In the coming months you'll see me work on what I can create of a game(I have an artist for the project already, may want more, of course), but also become more knowledgable on Networking concepts and technology. Network+ isn't majorly detailed, but once I get into Cisco, I'll probably be able to answer a lot of questions on the Networking side(I hope).
Thanks for the warm welcome I've already received!
