meh sorry about kinda stealling the name but not trying to be original...
so I wake up... early in the morning go to work for 9 and a half hours without breaks monday - sunday and i dont get overtime pay... get off work... go "home" sit on my computer and look for things to do...
now normally I would play 360(but my plug blew) or I'd play some random online game(but im on internet so slow im surprised i can view this forum) how about yall what do yall do...
Reading lots of C# tutorials. Holiday shopping and grading exams. Sorry for the double post.
I don't surprisingly do much at all when i i think about it, my sleep pattern is is messed up at the moment, I sleep for about 24 hours and then im awake for about 24 hours. |Trying to break the habit i've somehow gotten into. It's weird waking up at 10 at night, going to sleep at ten at night the following day and then waking up at ten at night, again.. ![]()
But when i am awake, this is what id do (at least what i did yesterday, well last time i was awake) Got up about half ten pm, had some breakfast cereal, picked up a PHP book i got out the uni library before the semester ended, and read through about half of it, about midnight, i sat with my girlfriend to watch a film before she went to bed (Die Hard 2). Then continued coding for the online library system i've been writing from scratch to learn PHP and practise my db design skills. read up on some SQL injection techniques and then built into the site security that prevents them. watched a photoshop tutorial on youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hsiQptl_Y9E) Found an alright all round web development tutorial site similar to w3schools (in fact it's probably the same content i just haven't bothered checking, although im pretty sure there's more here: http://www.tizag.com)
About 3 ish i went to the hospital for a echo cardiogram (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Echocardiography), everything was fine but they haven't found the cause of my palpitations, chest pains or occasionally erratic electro cardiogram (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electrocardiography).
When i got home, i did some more coding, had a nose on some forums, set up an ubuntu server at home at set up a small network using kerberos (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kerberos_(protocol)) just out of interest. Then set one up with Active directory and windows server 2008.
I got annoyed with IIS, used httpd instead, it's miles better. had a look at nginx (http://nginx.org/) another http/mail server.
Tried to get motivated to do something in C#, but ended up making bacon and fried egg ![]()
Went to bed about 9 that day. Did't do a lot really, probably should have gone shopping or something considering im behind on christmas shopping. With 2 days left ![]()
@aphro - I sometimes get palpatations and chest pains and was kinda worried for a while until I read that they're both symptoms of anxiety (and I'm a very anxious person!), so if you're a particularly anxious person, or if you're just stressed, that might be the cause. I bet your sleep schedule doesn't help much either!
I also completely understand in regards to the Christmas shopping. I've had all the time in the world to shop, but just haven't got round to it until just today.
Just won $60 at a small starcraft tourney a few days ago lol. Been laddering a bit, should hit top 200 (SEA) soon just need to put in the time, I've beaten half of those guys I just cbf laddering. Blizzard has made it too much like leveling, where its difficult to drop down but also difficult to rise, so that your ladder rank doesn't accurately represent your actual ability unless you put in heaps of time. T_T
Still mucking around with Ruby to find the most portable way of using OpenGL with it. That's the trouble with having good package managers, its hard to ship anything with pre-installed packages.
This morning I had a hang over and threw up everything I ate yesterday, didn't even drink as much as I normally do either, and normally when I drink that much I still feel fine the next day. I guess sichuan food doesn't mix well with heavy drinking and mcdonalds. ![]()
But overall lifes been good!
@Bake ... atleast u can drink lol I cant right now cant wait for this year to be over
the only reason why my current schedule is like that right now and i dont have alot of time to do stuff is cause im currently deployed overseas... but when I get back im getting out of the military... and I will have alot more time... but while im here in the time I do have I been writing up design documents for the game I plan on making its like 100 something pages right now going into detail on how I want everything to work...
I can't drink either, but that is because I have irritable bowel syndrome.
Alcohol and caffeine both destroy me. Never been big on drinking anyways, though, so its all good.
Im not a big drinker a 30 pack lasts me like 3 months just cause im a huge light weight and I want to stay that way
For me the last 3 days were busy aswel. Had a big test yesterday which I passed with ease. today I had to hand in an assignment for the same course. Unfortunatly I was so tired by puling 2 all nighters in a row that I forgot to include some vital stuff, so I need to be a bit lucky to pass that part aswell. In a couple of hours I will be off to shoot some pool and then I wil probably sleep for the next 24 hours. Luckily I have a week off now, so i can learn some more C# and do some coding.
Have good xmas you guys
CHEERS
Umm wake up at 4 Am, go run 6 miles, get ready for work and clean my room before leaving for work at 7:30 then work till 7 at night on a short day Monday through Friday. On the weekends I used to just get drunk and forget about work but I've started to stop drinking and get back into doing art.
Now I'm working on a project for the iPhone/iPod and the iPad, it's a small sidescroller 2D game and it'll be a nice little project to get me back into the game.
Now I'm on vacation and not too many people ( no one ) around me want(s) to talk about game dev so I thought I'd come back to one site I remembered where everyone talks about game dev.

A seemingly endless fleet of privately owned vehicles, one of which is an off road jeep in dire need of attention, another thats my wife's replacement jeep I thought I could fix, my wife's 46 dodge pickup, also in dire need of attention, and then the daily drivers....
Family...
And then there is a little bit of daydreaming followed or mixed with a feeling of "what the heck did I get myself into by choosing Netgore when Im primarily a 'BASIC' kinda guy....
I like challenges....
